		<description>a subtle, but important, point to reinforce:  If you are trying to condition praise as a meaningful reinforcement to the dog, it needs to come BEFORE the food (primary reinforcer).  Just like conditioning the marker/bridge, the praise gets its power by its consistent prediction of the Really Good Thing (food) that comes next.  So the sequence is: Cue (&quot;sit&quot;) --&gt; Behavior --&gt; Marker--&gt; Praise--&gt;  Food.
